The Black Pearl King Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus hybrid) was first produced in Japan by cross-breeding asian and european Oyster Mushroom varieties. Resembling a King Oyster Mushroom, but with a softer texture, Their earthy, umami flavour and meaty texture is great for sauté, soup, stew, stir-fry, pasta, rice or noodle dishes, but just as at home with potatoes or salads. Try in a recipe replacing pulled pork.
