As Moxie winds back up for another season at our local farmers' markets, we made an exciting discovery in one of our outdoor grow beds, currently home to Winter Rye. We inoculated the bed with this mushroom's sawdust spawn back in September, and have since added all manner of spent substrate and mycelium from our growing operations, but this Garden Giant has beaten its way through all the competition! The well-named "Godzilla Mushroom," aka King Stropharia/Wine Cap (Stropharia rugosoannulata) is standing proud in several clusters, and coming to a farmers' market stall near you!
